So I couldn't sleep last night because of this. After watching it over and over I know I didn't deserve this fish. BTW it was the biggest one I've ever had hooked up. There is no way this wasn't 10+ and maybe 12+! My line went tight so I set the hook. It didn't move so I figured I was just hung up just like what had happened quite a few times that day. All of a sudden my snag started moving. I saw it surface the first time and I knew it was a giant! It then woke up from it's cold water slumber and took off. All I could do was hang on. It left the water and I started thinking "how the hell am I going got get this monster in". My net was folded up on the bottom of the boat. About that time the ol girl decided she had enough and dove to deeper water just throwing my jerkbait like she was just playing with me. I've been kicking myself since! I have never thought to switch the hooks on my jerkbaits but I will from here on out. This video is painful to watch! I did have a good day other than this. Caught a 5lber 4 casts after this biatch. https://youtu.be/akA6pM4AsuQ

I've had them eat it while hung up. Looks like that's what happened. If so, she wasn't hooked good on outside of the mouth

Remember to use that thumb bar and give them line when they make a hard run.
I hate photobucket.

Sounds like you the got the skills you need to make the big girls bite - it's just a matter of time before you land one that's even bigger. I appreciate you sharing the video. I was on Ray Roberts on Sunday morning. I've never seen the fog as thick as it was so I was careful to stay close to the bank. I cast a 5XD out deep and hooked up with something big - real big. After approximately 15 minutes, I saw that it was an enormous catfish and I foul hooked it about 6" above its tail. It didn't like what it saw and dove for the bottom again. I had changed out the hooks the night before and even upped the back one to size 2. The fish was pulling me out further and further from the bank and I decided to get more aggressive before things got too dangerous. Another 10 minutes passed and just like that, he was gone. The only thing I got was some slimy line and a little bit of catfish flesh on the big treble. I don't know what I would have done if I actually landed the catfish but it would have been nice to have to get to that point.

Always Thumb the spool on jerkbaits more than any treble hook baits. Even more than cranks. Those fish will pull those tiny hooks so easy due to being hooked outside the mouth or the edge of lip. You'll get her next time.
I can backlash toilet paper.

Sorry about that. At least you know "where" to spend some time for another shot.

Man had two like that today first one I didn't get to see but felt like a snag then started to move and was big. Second one I did get to see and it was like a 20# carp that I fought for 5 minutes and decided that I wasn't going to put it in the boat and finally pulled the hook. Sorry about the lose but next time karma should be on your side!
