Looking for feedback from anyone who might have used one or been a boat with one? Considering a purchase.

Yes, I have one, and it is one bad dude. It's awesome! It's very easy to use and it's a simple design. The Spot Lock works as claimed too. I could not be happier with it. The only issue I have, and it's a minor issue, is that it's slightly heavier to deploy/stow than the Fortrex. And when I say slightly, I mean slightly. Other than that it's a perfect trolling motor.

Just make sure the foot paddle will fit in your recessed cut out if you have one..

We have installed 4 and just had a Demo day Saturday on our demo boat with an Ultrex that has iPilot. I am really impressed with this motor overall. The reinvented spot lock and GPS features are night and day more accurate than the Terrova and Ulterra models. Spot lock will hold the boat within 5 feet of the way point. The greatest thing about this motor is that you have a traditional cable drive, foot controlled motor-that is electronic transmission assisted. Meaning, you have the best of both worlds. We, as bass anglers, have all the GPS features on a cable driven, foot controlled motor now. The remote is extremely user friendly also. Run the motor from anywhere on the boat with the remote or use the foot pedal. The Ultrex bracket is very similar to the Fortrex bracket so it is VERY easy to deploy and stow. The foot pedal is very responsive. That is probably the main part of the motor that will take owners the most getting used to. Haven't had a chance to take it out in rough water yet. If you have questions about how it performs and specifics, give us a call 325-658-1969.

Any chance we see the spot lock technology integrated with a hand steer in the future?

I really don't know. "Old school" hand control motors are slowly disappearing across the board. The bow fishermen seem to be the biggest segment that are keeping these motors relevant.

Got mine from BBG marine also. Had it within 5 days of ordering right before Christmas. Haven't used it yet. Wednesday is hopefully the day.
