I know lots of folks fhat eat the catfish there. They're kinda strange but I don't think it has anything to do with eating the fish!!

We used to keep the undersized bass from Monticello, We would make a fish soup bisque.
I think there was some type of warning a few years ago and it may still be there about eating only so much of fish from there.

Mercury & pcb's are released into the air when they burn coal to produce electricity. Shad eat it with plankton and it moves up the food chain to game fish from there.
It's bad for anybody but especially for pregnant women.
I wouldn't eat any fish from Monticello or Welsh.

cypress springs,bob sandlin,monticello all are under the wind range of the power plant.how ever power plants are closing down. unit 3 is all that runs now. for all. i have eaten bass,catfish,crappies for 25 years out of all of these lakes, so far all i do is glow on full moon.
