Or ---- the Lake Conroe Tagged Bass Tournament
I told someone that catching one of the 100 bass that were caught, tagged and released back into Lake Conroe was probably 1 in a Million. Imagine; 100 fish tagged in a lake that size.......
Well, I was wrong. First thing when my son gets to the lake to fish he sees a man checking in , not one--but 2, neon green tagged fish. WOW .... the tournament is not even 4 hours old and 2 of the 100 tagged fish are caught.
So my son goes on out and on his 1st cast he catches tagged fish number 022. Double WOW --- 3 of 100 of the tagged fish caught in less than 4 hours after opening a 4 month tournament.
Nice way to start out the New Year 2017.

I fished a shallow bay on Rayburn one Fall morning and caught six state-tagged bass!

I called TPWD to report the tag numbers and they didn't seem to think catching that many on the same day was a big deal. They said they had tagged and released those fish in that area a few days before. I guess the fish were happy to stay together where they were dropped! TPWD mainly wanted to know if I ate them or released them.
