What do you guys do for bait when you get a last minute chance to do a little bank fishing for blues?
This happened just the other day, took my net but didn't manage any bait at all with it.
Inquiring mind would appreciate any tips. THANKS!!!!

I never throw away shad. If it doesn't get used it goes in a ziplock and into the freezer. Fresh shad is best, but frozen shad is still better than just about anything else.

I get gizzard shad and freeze them 4 or 5 in gallon Ziploc. Then you have bait all winter.put them on ice from the net.then freeze soon as you can they will bleed when cut them .

I have been using mackerel... limited success.

$4 for two whole big ones from the Asian market.

They had buffalo as well, but it was $4 a pound and they wanted you to buy the whole fish. Id guess it was a 7-8ln fish!

Going to start trying chicken breasts. The macks have not worked too well so far.

Spend a couple of days and do some bait fishing. Catch a mess of bluegills, maybe a couple of small carp/buffalo, freeze em whole. Catch enough for a 1-2 months and you'll be set.
