Broke my abu vertios rod today and I was wondering if anyone has had any luck trying to get a new one through warranty? Or if they even have warranty... snapped it right in half and I already have to buy a rod for my new reel. Would hate to have to buy two.

I broke mine, sent them pics of the rod and break. They sent me a brand new one. Easy. Just contact them.

Does is matter how you broke it? My got stuck on something and I broke it when I picked it up

If you broke it why would you expect them to warranty it?
Imo, this kind of thinking shows a lot about the character of a person.

Or what's wrong with the world. Their warrantee clearly states "defective". Why does the rest of the world need to pay for my mistakes? Well at least I know what party you voted for in the election! Almost forgot, Happy New Year all! :-)

No. As mentioned above, this is not a result of a defect but a resuklt of misuse. They would not replace it.

I think it's a little rude to assume my "character" when I based this question off of passed experience with st croix fly rods and many other rods that replace their rods no questions asked. I have a friend who ordered three and accidentally ran over them the next day st Croix sent him three new ones next week.

I voted for the right person but have also made missuse mistakes and broke a rod. It was my fault but just a mistake. Still got it replaced for free with no questions asked. Wasnt through them but it was through academy. They take anything and everything back. Pretty bad to assume someones character! He was just trying to get some advice and opinons on if it would be worth it. Garett, sorry for the rudeness. If you contact them and tell them what happened all they can do is tell you no. Always worth a shot

My son broke an Abu rod and got it replaced with no issues. He took care of it all himself and had the new rod within a week or two. Academy is great and will take anything back and one reason I do a lot of business with them. As far as the political statement, I could care less who voted for who, it's a free country and irrelevant to your question. Good luck, hope you get it replaced. Abu's customer service is one reason we do business with them.

Person buys a 1/4" diameter fishing rod and expects a new one if it breaks.
Same person buys a 75,000.00 truck and knows that in a relatively short period 4 years on average .anything that happens to it is on his dime. If he wrecks it then it is still on his dime from day one.
I will never figure out the mentality.

replaced two last year...one even arrived at my house broken and they immediately replaced it

by the way depending on the model, Walmart will exchange it also
