The bite was a little off for a few days on Texoma so me ,and a buddy went over to Tawakoni before Christmas.Twok did not disappoint we caught fish for a couple hours straight.Got in about 40 foot.of water, and drifted to a point they stoped biting in about 18 fow.I had seen a while back from ATM97 making fish prints so I tryed my hand in that now to add color. Here are some pics.

How do you make "fish prints"?

I could explain it,but better to just Google Gyotaku. I did not use rice paper for this one.Looking for some rice paper large enough to make some more.I may have to order it on line no luck around here.

Very nice job Michael! All these dead stickin reports almost have me wanting to go back to chasing striped fish.

On those prints, practice helps more than anything. Making sure the paint is the right consistency (with a tiny bit of water) to get a good even coat then doing it quickly so that its not already drying in some spots makes the biggest difference in how well they come out. Still haven't done any on rice paper but with fabric, the more course the texture makes it more difficult. At first we were pinning the fins up but it seemed to be messy and slowed the process so now just paint the fish body first then fold the fabric up at the edge and individually do the dorsal, pelvic and anal fins. Here a couple that ended up as wall art that my boys have caught

We did get the idea after some prints that our friends had done at kingfisher taxidermy in SPI. They do amazing work! http://kingfishertaxidermy.com/gyotaku/
