Been wanting to try Waco for winter fishing since last year; just never got in gear and made the trip. Well, today I remedied that situation. Used to watch Charlie Pack on his TV show fish for winter time crappie on Waco and do well. No reason Waco shouldn't be a good winter fishery. Tried several depths before I got it figured out. Once at the right depth, the fish were there. Finished with 23.
And the big prize was a solid 2.0 lb crappie. The top 7 went 9.76 lb; nothing to brag about except that's pretty darn good for a CenTex lake. Most fish caught on minnows, with 6 fish coming on a glo-truse tadpole.
The bottom row are the 7 biggest. The bottom right is that 2 lber from Waco.
