Cholesterol was up on my last visit to my Dr. She said to cut out fried foods, carbs and bread. That sounds like I will starve in itself. I've been on the crappie the last few days so I need some non-fried recipes. I've seen many on here but never paid attention. If you have some please share.
Thanks

wrap the filet in thin cut bacon. Season with your favorite rub. Bake at 350 until done.

Crappie Cakes Third post in thread has recipe. Review thread for pics and comments. Thank me later. You can bake them too. Or, as wife and I have done, go to a dry air fryer. There's many ways to prepare and eat fish than just fried - Google is your friend.

Lightly coat fillet with Italian bread crumbs. Skillet on med-high or little hotter. 2-3 tablespoons olive oil; sear on one side till meat turns white over half way through. Flip and sear the other side. Get skillet hot enough to sear rather fast.

Most the time, I just run through milk or egg wash and coat with bread crumbs, corn flakes, or Panko spiced with a little Tony Chachere's and bake at 350 for 15-20 minutes. I do spray them with olive oil b4 I bake. Dip them in cocktail sauce, I make from Heinz ketchup and prepared horse radish. Just the way I always make crappie, as my cholesterol gets a little high, when I eat like I like...

We found that crappie grilled is great. lay sheet of foil in cookie. Season crappie with olive oil...small amount, salt and pepper to taste. The cooking time varies 20- 30 minutes. Check frequently, You will know when the fillets are done.
Using the site for a while...this is really great to share fishing ideas and success with others.

We made crappie on the half shell on the grill and it came out excellent. Give it a try.
