Rainshadow Eternity ETEC72MH-SS - Normally $191.58 - got mine during black Friday for $143.69 MVT Toray Trigger Reel Seat 13.5 - $29.42 MVT DKN Titanium Hood - $14.40 ALPS Aluminum Winding Checks - $13.72 Fuji titanium frame / torzite rings - $131.64 Winn Forecast Grips - $44.35 Note: 31 years ago, I learned how to wrap rods as a teen in Lantana Beach Fla. at a bait store I hung out at (Capt. Johns Bait and Tackle). He taught me how to wrap big saltwater rods. This is my second bass rod I've attempted since. Much harder to wrap a small diameter rod than a big saltwater rod and I can't see worth a [censored] anymore! Installed the reel seat and grips Used metallic silver as a base and layed out a double diamond wrap More black with gold trim band

Very impressive work!!! Looks great! But, wouldn't all that wrapping, take away/dampen the sensitivity? You spent a lot of money for a top-end blank, guides, etc. for the sensitivity right? I really don't want to sound negative, because your work is beautiful and it takes a lot of talent to produce something like that. Just curious really. All the custom blanks I've had made, I wanted them "stripped". "Less is more" type of deal... What is your experience? Again, beautiful work!!! You obviously paid attention when building the salt-water rods! I wish I had that talent.

I've built one "stripped" But with as sensitive as the blank is, I've found that you really can't tell a difference between one with a decorative wrap. The added weight with that diamond wrap and epoxy is really not as much as you would think. It probably wouldn't even weigh as much as a small front grip if it had one. I also balance the rod perfectly using the exact weight of the reel spooled with line that I will be using. I'll take pics of that process when I do it. I'm also going to diamond wrap the butt section ....adds to my counter weight.
