It was tough for me.

I tried everything I could think of: conehead bugger, RS2, midge dry, pheasant tail, zebra midges and a parachute adams for no luck. I had a couple bumps on the bugger, but that was it.

Fish were rising hard at the top of what I think we're calling hickory hole, as well as a few other places, but I couldn't get them to go. The bait guys had decent numbers, and I saw a couple landed on fly gear, but I'm not sure what they were using.

I saw them a bunch above the dump station road. We also kept seeing the three bald eagles in the same area.

IN response to the last weeks' worth of postings.....

There are two nesting pairs of bald eagles on the lake. They often take an afternoon flyover all the way down to powerhouse and back. There is also one juvenile bird that you can see.

The fish are rising to midges and BWO's. Black RS2's are great. Dry/dropper was a killer method a few days last week.

The hooded mergansers have taken over the riffles and hole below the red zone bridge. Really cool birds. Very photogenic obviously.

The river is full of fish right now. The air pressure has a lot to do with good and bad days. Find some cloudy, damp, or wet weather and the catching is as good as the fishing!

No generating going on, so Zone II and Zone III are fishing well. Z3 got some mitigation fishies a week or so ago.

Love the pics and story, Mac!

Gitchmo- soory to hear that man. I really thought the weather was setting up for you to have a good day. Guess that shows what I know.

Jeff - Thanks man! One pair of Eagles flew right over me down in Zone two, I think it was Thursday morning. By the time I fished my Nikon out of my back pack they were gone and I didn't see them again.
