Went to Winchester Park Lake in Chandler last night. The trout were more than willing. Caught this batch:

So I talked my beautiful wife into going today. We caught something like 27 of them and kept the ones that either had some decent size or took the hook deep. Ended up with 2 full limits:

Both my wife and I grew up trout fishing, her in NH and me in CO. We used a type of salmon eggs commonly called fireballs which are one of the best baits in CO for rainbows. Fished them completely weightless and the trout couldn't leave them alone. For those that don't know what fireballs are:

Trout for supper! Cheers.

Yep, fireballs are a type of salmon egg put out by Pautzke bait company. They are really good for rainbows. Don't know if you can get them in TX. I brought some down from CO in Dec just for when they stocked the local lakes.

Thanks Flags. I have used Salmon eggs in the past and have never had good results on the stocker trout. When I lived in Oregon and Washington State MANY MANY years ago I caught a lot of trout using Salmon eggs. It's funny how in some places you can nail em on Salmon eggs but in other areas you cant. hmmm
