From what I have read online, the rebuilt peir won't have the stairs halfway to the end. The whole peir will be wheelchair accessable.

Did you fish?
Gotta a couple buddies headed to the West end beach tomorrow. Sad to say I couldn't join em. I'll report what they did. So far today they've caught about a dozen whiting to keep and a slot red at 24 inches from the breakers in the surf. They're moving on to 61st pier to get some more. They said the seaweed is bad today.

I hate to report to the long time Galveston Fishing Pier customers the passing of long time employee Mike . He was more than just a pier employee he was a FREIND . Good natured and freinddly and so helpful to 1000's of people .We will miss the guy . Love U Mike . Take care Parnter .

Sometimes I think God must not want me to fish again had to get wife a new knee them I went blind in my right eye and the weather sucks where work on the pier is slow . O well still waiting

Galveston Fishing Pier will NOT open on the 6th . Had a problem with the City of Galveston . Going to shoot for the 8th

Keep the reports coming. I live in Galveston and your updates are great for the most current data. The daily news fishing reports are a day old so conditions are usually different by the post time.

I'm going down to Galveston this weekend and was planning on carolina rigging some shrimp off the bottom. Anyone been down there lately?

Well i went this mornin and fished for about 5 hrs.i managed to catch 15 bull whiting, one black drum,one red fish.all were keepers.dead shrimp on bottom carolina rig.I fished on the 21st rock groin.good luck

I caught about 15 whiting and 1 croaker from the 61st street pier. All on shrimp carolina rigged on the bottom.
