Thinking about hitting Monticello for the first time next week. Looking for something different with some good numbers. Are reservations required like Squaw Creek? Didn't see anything on their website requiring it. Want to make sure before I take the 2.5 hour drive out that way. Thanks in advance guys.

If you have never been there, search this site for information on where to run above the car bridge. I think there have been a few maps posted with information.
There is a $2.00 per person "entry fee". Stop at the gate, there are envelops there. Bring a pen or pencil cause there usually is not one there. They do check time to time so its better to just pay the fee.

Allen Bass Fisher, I'll be going out there on Tuesday. I just plotted 20 places to hit. Hopefully I can get on something!

No not yet. I was on Navionics webpage looking at their free map and marked them on my google map. I'll transfer everything over to my Lowrance unit before I leave. Looks like there's a lot of timber up that way.

Was on Monticello last Friday. Water temps running in the 65 - 70 range at ramp to discharge and 62 - 65 range up in Smith to back of Blundle.....

I have fished it 3 times and had great trips each time. Solid fish in that lake and not too hard to find its basically a big pond. Find some grass or pads and have fun.

If you like crappie, bring some jigs, they are catching a TON of them on the highway and submerged bridges!!!!

It has started to slow down a bunch out there. Can be tough at times. It's getting hammered.

Was on Monticello last Friday. Water temps running in the 65 - 70 range at ramp to discharge and 62 - 65 range up in Smith to back of Blundle..... On saturday the "back" of blundell was mid 50's, the the upper end of the back where the pads used to be, was mid 60's. slow soft plastics worked well last week. lots of 2 to 3 pounders with a couple of "nice" fish. lots of boats in the blundell area. i did not see a boat in smith creek when i went by the rr bridge heading to the ramp. there were about twenty trucks parked at the ramp when i came in at 1pm.
