Is the parking lot off Miller road open? I noticed there's still construction equipment around it.

It's open. I parked there last time I was there 3 weeks ago.

Here's some tip for the people is not doing to well.

Ultra lite rod 4lb line (you need this to feel the bite or you miss all the time or can't feel the bite at all)

1/16oz head.
any color jig my favorite is this one

Cause I LOVE GOOOOOLD!

Cast into a spot where you think they are in and reel it pause reel it pause. No bite move on to somewhere else.

Was able to make it out late this morning and kayak around (yea yea, not banking it) and couldn't even catch a dink. This is almost exactly what I was using.

Where did you launch, NerdGuy? I scoured the creek today and found some spots I'd like to paddle to.

I recommend investing in some scents, especially shad oil type scents. I primarily use the Bonehead stuff. Also use your fingers on your reeling hand to feel the line because bite is really light. What's been working for me is more of the silver and blue colors.

With air pressure being so high these few. Days. You would basically have to live line minnows or 1 small splitshot. Other then that they are basically lethargic unroll. We get some low pressure.

http://www.usairnet.com/weather/conditions/?station=KTKI <--- BOOKMARK THIS!

Check the barometric air pressure before heading out.

~29.75 - ~30.25 is your "safe zone" between this range, jigs should produce. Anything under or over, MOST of the time, you're going to have to use minnows. If the pressure is rising, the bite will be slower. If it is falling, the bite is generally better. Falling/Rising too fast will shut off the bite. Use minnows or go home. If the pressure is at 29.60 or lower, or 30.40 or higher, I WILL NOT go out, unless I'm dreadfully bored. I'm not wasting my time with just a few fish.. I know, I'm spoiled... I'll clean the house, or tie some flies or jigs or something. Any time after a major cold front, it generally takes 3-4 days for everything to settle back down. Tomorrow should start picking back up.

If you're throwing over 4-6lb line, you're wasting your time and missing fish. If you're throwing heavier than 1/16th-1/32nd, you're not going to do very well. If you're fishing jig and bobber, you want to use the SMALLEST peg float that will stay afloat with your jig. 90% of the time, I'm throwing 4lb hi vis crappie max, with a 2-3' 4lb flouro leader. On the days they're biting extremely light, I will switch to the 2nd rod I carry, with 10lb braid, and a 4lb flouro leader. Color doesn't seem to matter too much right now. Deeper pockets, 1/16th. Shallower pockets, 1/32nd. Sensitive 7' light or medium action rod and a light spinning reel.

To everyone having a hard time, it's not the air pressure. Fish will bite just fine even if the air pressure is high or falling too fast or doing whatever is mentioned above. LOCATION is EVERYTHING when it comes to catching crappie. This is why at some creeks you find people lining the banks in certain areas catching fish. That is because they have located the crappie. Case and point was yesterday when I found an area at a creek that was about the side of a couch that was LOADED with good fish. Once I got out of that area, I just reeled in because I knew I wouldn't get bite. I couldn't tell you how many times I have went to a creek and did very well when everyone else was staying home because of the pressure.
