Anybody know what the water temperature at Welsh is currently? Wondering of the cold snap forced them to start generating electricity. Might try and go later this week.

ABF,

Water temps on Welsh this morning ran in the 68 - 72 range from ramp to discharge, dropping down in the mid 60's up north. I primarily fish timber / grass in upper north end, so can't say what the temps were down by damn, but expect they would be in upper 60's.....

I have not been out there much this winter (at least not on the weekend). Normally weekend traffic is pretty heavy on this lake during the winter months.

I don't even try to go on weekends between now and mid-February. When I walked up to truck to load up around noon today, I counted 35 trucks in parking lot....

I can't remember when it was but "they" did improve the parking lot and the approach to the ramp (added the guard rails and widened the staging area). They did add the picnic tables and the covered shelter at the same time. They have done nothing to the ramp itself. It's just an old road bed.

Does anyone remember when they had the old Convenient store on the right as you are pulling off the lake. There was parking there also at one time. When I first started fishing the lake back in the early 90's the store was closed but you could still park there.

This year they did get rid of some of the speed bumps they had. That was always a pain if you rode in your boat back to the parking lot.

3 Saturday's ago lot full people on the road, last Saturday not near as busy lot half full and they bit well before the cold front, not generating only slight current. Bucks shallow a few beds not committed though and they were not any helpers shallow. They moved the Saturday open tourament to Monticello, we had 6 over 18 reports were good both north and south part of the lake from our club fisherman.
