I fished there yesterday. They stopped generating at 7 AM. Timing was perfect. Yes, water is high and does slowly drop. You have to work your way out wading but the action was more consistent compared to the time before where the water was very low. Caught 10-15 small ones and couple in the 2-3# range. No monsters.

During the week is great. Not fighting for space and no bait casters.

Nice day on the water! I work M-F so weekday fishing has not been in the cards for me, but I imagine it would be more pleasant. My brother is coming in from Louisiana for Christmas and we are going to try and head out there Dec. 26. With a lot of people off work I assume it will be crowded, but that is the day we can go so that is the day we are going. The next day we have a striper trip booked on Whitney with Pat Small, so if we strike out on stripers on the Red River we have a definite backup plan.

Well ... are they still generating? The beginning of that generation, when it is a predictable cycle, is epic. I am looking for someone to hit Denison with on Thursday - not a big fan of doing this place alone. Will be working on OK side as usual. I don't hang out much on this site, but will check back tonight and tomorrow.

I can't go Thursday, but yes, they are generating. Recently 2x daily at roughly sunrise and sunset. Though that seems to have changed today.

Much slower today. I caught 3 nice ones. Too cold for me. I didn't have gloves and was pretty miserable most of the time.

I didn't connect with texasflycaster until the parking lot when leaving. He seems like a really cool guy and I look forward to fishing with him in the future.

Very nice fish, yep fishing in the cold is no fun.

That can be a tough gig - wading and fly fishing when it's cold. I have a pair of wool 1/2 finger Simms gloves that help, but they just keep my hands cold instead of frozen.

Good job! I dig cold weather fishing. Some of the best trips I had were when the temp was in the 30s and the rod guides would ice over. Not for everyone, but man can be awesome.
