Well it's been a long time coming... The wife and I have finally purchased kayaks for our our family...been saving for a while and have purchased some nice solid used kayaks...our boys are ages 11 and 13 and these are there Christmas presents.haha...strange thing is my wife is more excited about this than I am...gonna be really interesting.


The driving force and secret desire of every bass fisherman, is to one day be a crappie fisherman............Could it be that the good Lord just smilies and looks the other way when a fisherman tells a lie?

Awesome! Hopefully the habit stays with the kiddos.

I'm going to go ahead and say that you need to make it a point to get the best pfd's available for the family. Best fit, foam flotation, ect...

Ok thanks...mine came with a really nice Patagonia vest...we will be using our regular vests for now...but good vests will be a priority very soon...I'm open for suggestions.

Thats pretty cool!

Love my kayak. Nothing like being on the water. Not "on" the water like in boat... in yak you are like ON the water. Like a duck. Much closer to the natural things going on.

For vests - i'd suggest looking at the Type III sports vests w/ neoprene exteriors. They sell them for water-ski'ing/sports. They are comfortable enough to wear mid summer against bare skin all day and slim enough to wear under/as part of your winter setup (so there is NEVER an excuse for not wearing them).

I love the fishing type vests... but the sports vest just hold up for everyone, all the time, so made more sense for my family (and hence why i recommend them)

ok...I have a couple of them...and the have held up very well.
