I'm thinking of getting a new trailer for my boat...Tired of the Cool Hubs constantly acting up....plus the fiberglass looks old....I have an 01 Ranger 520....
What type of trailer would some of you suggest...Brand wise I guess.....

just try to get one made with C channel and not the enclosed rectangular tubing that the trailer mfgs seem to love. Every tube trailer I have seen start rusting from the inside out. Espically where I boat up on lake texoma... with all the salt in the water up there. C channel may not look as nice, but you don't wind up with water trapped on the inside of the unpainted tubing..... which just accelerates the rusting process. Or get aluminum if you can stand the sticker shock.

If it was easy, everyone would do it

I have a coastline aluminum I got a year ago. tandem torsion axles, nice aluminum mag wheels, made for my majek. 4300 out the door, it hurt, but I swear my boat runs better the trailer is so nice. your boat is 15 years old, and if its still on the water today it probably will in another 15, get a trailer that will last that long

There's a saying in the guitar/amplifier world about buying stuff cheap or what you really want: Buy Once, Cry Once. You won't regret buying an aluminum trailer very long. Better than having to buy another onein a few years.

I'm still running on the original steel tube trailer that came new with my 1997 Triton.

When I got my Alu. trl. made by TX-All Customs Trl.s...one thing TY told me was to NEVER get aluminum wheels. Must have been a good reason not too....and I could only guess why. Damage easy, can't balance, tire leak...not sure. He's in the biz to build great trls, so he ought to know.
