Not that it is on the market the video reviews and article reviews will be everywhere.

I would still recommend going to look at one in person.

Now that there are many more pedal driven kayaks on the market, I would suppose we will see some price reduction as competition increases. That is how it is supposed to work.

There are a couple of issues:

1) If you buy a first year model with mechanics of any sort, like a pedal drive, there will almost always be issues to iron out. Native had to re-design its drive because water was getting inside the units and causing issues;

2) Some of the new pedal models will not succeed and will be discontinued. Not that kayaks last forever but it is pretty certain that Natives and Hobies aren't going anywhere and most of us don't want an "orphan" where parts and service cease to exist.

Like everyone else, I'd demo to make sure it was right for me. And, I might wait a bit before I pulled the trigger to see how early users sum up their experiences.

Don't recall now which new model, but I read the other day that one of the new pedal units was sort of noisy.
