Hobby Lobby has the synthetic mouse fur. It is a little shorter than Rat Fur. Ever thought about the real thing as it can be spray painted if you like brown?

here is the unpainted bait that Im going to lay down a hair type effect on. Donald, thanks for the idea of the mouse hair, but I am determined to paint it on there and try to have it look somewhat realistic.

Lake Rat still need to clear and I think the depth will stand out alot more have 4 different layers of the fur effect cant get good pics of it, but looks good in person. I might dip it today, just trying to decide if I wanna do it with the bill on or off.

Thanks Donald, still not totally satisfied with the outcome. Its an improvement over the first 2 attempts. Honestly I think I over did this one I had gone back in and done just a few spots with white the try and give it more depth, then went back with the blk and brown and should have left it how it was. Part of trying to figure out a new pattern is learning when to stop. Im going to try more of a lab rat type fur pattern today, White, bone, and light grey to see how it turns out.
