Fished Tawakoni yesterday with a buddy. I launched about 12:30 solo and fished the state park area until I picked him up at the ramp about 2:00. Didn't find anything there so we headed to Holiday and checked there. Saw some bait but no fish. Moved down to the dam and found some schools in about 25 fow. Buddy caught a couple of good stripers around the dam and we moved North towards the flats. Saw some birds and it was on. We were in constant fish for about an hour. Managed 2 good limits of fat hybrids and stripers. Don't know how many we caught just catching and releasing. Anywhere from 13 ft to 30 ft. All on 5 in sassys homemade a-rigs. The schools were all mixed between Hybrids, Stripers and Sandies.

Decided to go to Whitney today about 2pm. I was the only one at the ramp. Fished the area by Loafers for a bit with not much luck. Decided to move down towards Towash and saw 3 birds near shore by the marina and park. Decided to check em out and found a massive school of stripers. They were in 45 fow and it was solid fish from bottom up to 20 ft. Caught several out of that school and they moved a little. All of a sudden the birds came in and the fish started hitting on top. Caught prob 40-50 between 2:30-4:00 pm. Left them biting and still popping. All on topwater and sassy shad. Didnt see another boat the entire time. They were in anywhere from 45-10 ft. Moving and chasing all over. Cloudy windy and cold but awesome fishing.

2 great reports. Glad you managed the cold and wind. I have found that usually the worse the weather the better the fishing is.

Great report...thanks clap

Hooking a fish is like playing string with a cat. The exact size, shape, color of string matters less than how you wiggle it- and little cats are easier to fool than big ones. John Gierach

What a great fishery Whitney is!!!!

My son and I made the 3+hr drive from Brookshire yesterday and we caught fish at every stop!

We caught fish from the north end of the lake, mid lake and near the dam. It was on everywhere. We boated over 100 striper!

We only saw one other boat in the mid lake area all day. Where is the Towash area. That may be the one area we didn't explore...

Any size on the stripers? Mostly schoolies or some bigguns?
