I am going to port A this summer and was going to get on here and ask if anyone has any bait suggestions or rigs or any tips (im a newbie) for shark fishing on the surf, or on the jetties.

I don't shark fish but have caught a few...nothing huge! My first thought is just have the appropriate tackle for jetty fishing or for the surf.A stout rod and reel to handle the job just in case you hook up with a Big one. I would use a Carolina rigged set up and a nice chunk of fresh dead mullet or shad. Both are oily fish.
Loosen the drag on your reel and wait!! BTW....if you keep one for chow, make sure it's legal....size and species. Check TPWD Regs.

Good luck & post your catch for us.

Catch you some whiting cut in half. If surf fishing cast into the 2nd gut. Or cut pony mullet. Get you some 4-6ft cast out leaders.
