Dang man cut the lock.

Well the kayak world is not all that big. Someone will see it.

Youd have to move it far away, out of state, for anyone to use it without looking over their shoulder.

Check all those for sale apps man. I bet its on one or will be soon.

It is most likely that someone saw the kayak, knew it had a lock, and knew to come back with bolt cutters, a truck, and probably a little help. I would see if any of the neighbors had security cameras that might show a vehicle or person before or at the time of the theft. Good luck.

Alas, the energy and thoughts expressed here have likely already greatly exceeded any police interest. Report taken, filed away. There won't be any BOLOs issued for a kayak I'd imagine.

I think Christian is doing the best thing by letting fellow kayakers keep an eye open on lakes if it shows up.

Recovery? Last time I spoke to Rick at Angler's, he had not recovered the Slayer Propel 10 that he lost to fraud, and Rick even had a photo of the two culprits!

*** It does bring up a possible great discussion point or two: 1) How to best secure a kayak at home, and on the way to the lake (say, you stop to eat); 2) and, how to secure trailers and other equipment back at the launch site that are left behind while we are fishing.

We need to put our heads together, keep it from happening as often.

Brad

Sorry to hear that Christian. I once caught a guy trying to steal my kayak in the middle of the night. Had it stored on porch and heard the sound of hull sliding. New immediately what was going on. I switched on bright porch light as I burst out door screaming profanities. Scared him to death but he got away on his bicycle. He had two other lookouts on bikes and had someone in a car waiting in the alley. Had to be local guys that just couldn't resist seeing that kayak everyday just sitting there waiting to be taken. Hope everyone will familiarize themselves with your kayak as it is unique.

It really doesn't matter. If they want it, they will get it.

I would check 5 Mile, OfferUp, Flip, LetGo and all those apps for it.

Stolen stuff used to be pawned or sold on craigslist, now its sold on those apps. I bet you can find it on one of those if you keep looking.

Facebook too, on all those trading posts groups. You really need to get a picture on here, probably one of the biggest audiences that's going to notice it.

Anyone who cares to see better pics of my boat can look on facebook. Christian myrick is my page and my profile pic is me standing throwing a castnet from the reload. I have posted on a ton of fb fishing sutes and lots of people have shared it too. As far as the police, yeah i know the drill...to them it doesnt matter. On a good note, after lots of discussion with bill bragman they will soon be comming out with a super light weight almost uncutable locking system or two with a tracking device.

I'm reading this as my kayak is sitting in the back of my truck in my driveway. Who the hell steals a kayak? What a terrible black market item.
