It has been a loooooooong time since I have been to the barge in Lewisville, I was just wondering if it is still a good place to get some crappie and how yall's experience has been. Any and All opinions welcome.

Here is a link to their website for those who did not know about the barge: http://www.lewisvillefishingbarge.com/

JMHO, this time of year you can do ALOT better fishing the creeks than you can fishing that barge(or any really). When I used to fish it, I remember hardly ever catching more than a couple small ones. Not saying you cant catch keepers there but more times than not that is not the case.

Thanks for the reply, I like to fish creeks, just finding some in our area that are easily accessible is what I need to do

I was just about to ask this same question. My father-in-law is coming for a few days and we don't have anything to keep him busy during the day. I don't think creeks would be good for him, but he would love to fish the barge or a marina. I'm going to need to just drop him off somewhere for the whole day.

Anybody had any luck?

Thanks

Thanks for the update, I know that barges can be hit or miss...sometimes they will be teaming with fish or just plain empty...it could be how the owners bait and provide cover to just the weather.

I went last Friday morning, caught over 20 crappies, only 3 keepers.
