would probably be easier to tape off the pattern your talking about on a holographic foiled bait then paint all the colors and remove the tape before clear coat to reveal the holographic pattern. I honestly had though of something similar already if i built a stencil to run beside the scallop lines and left it on the bait through the entire paint process. painting the bait a.craw pattern over holographic foil and when it was finished it would have a holographic ouline around the scallops on the side. Honestly Im not sure it would catch any more less fish than the regular craw pattern, but it would sure be different.

I just love seeing what ya'll come up with and if an idea of mine worked into something you made "cool"!! I do think like you said painting over a holographed bait would be easier than just remove the tape.

I play around with the hologram idea some this weekend.

threw the ditch cricket a little today no takers on any moving bait but I did catch about 20 on a crig

Not a great paint job, but it shows foil on sides. The bright purple is purple foil (stuff they use on fingernails).
