Hard to find a city lake that has any decent bream.....nor catfish, nor bass, but yet they put trout in them each winter.

There has been some healthy debate on this topic in past forum threads. I can see both sides on this issue. I am disappointed in the small size of the trout as 'Bass-Bustin-Texan' remarks. Also frustrating, in my opinion, that many city and community ponds/lakes are already fished hard for bass, etc. but stockings rarely keep up with amount of fish being taken out.

It was a different world when we were boys and girls....

Anyone fish Eureka/South Lakes Park with results yet? Saw the above post but did not mention trout. See anyone catching fish over there? Thanks in advance.

agree, but bream and catfish would live year round, spawn and continue to provide year round enjoyment and eating.

Invest in something that provides returns year after year....not for one month.

Arkansas has tried hybrid stripped bass (1-2 pounds) in some of their public ponds. Since a lot of the small community ponds get hammered for their keepable fish anyway, that could be an option for spring/fall.

They do stock catfish in many of the same ponds that get the trout.

Got some updates on trout fishing at Turner Falls (delayed), Medicine Park, OKC, and Flower Mound (TX)! May be of interest to some. Still fighting a cold but hope to at least get outside one day... weather permitting! Post.

I would vote for big bream also. They are a ball to catch on light tackle. When one hits my fly on my 5 wt. rod it feels like a small hybrid striper.

Made it to Heritage Park - one of the three ponds in Flower Mound that were stocked with trout. Rain let up, so had to make the run down the Tollway for a go at Rainbow Trout. Overall, the bite was steady with lots of folks getting bit. Power Bait and Corn seemed to be working; did see several taken with fishing flies but could not tell if anyone had strikes with other lures.

Fun time...but had to put on a PBRG (Power Bait Rainbow Glitter) in size 14 to get a limit! Post.

Where do they stock on the Guad? I'm trying to get as close to the location as possible for better odds this weekend. Anyone know where I can find a recent fishing report?

Checked out the ponds in Flower Mound that were stocked with trout. Tough round but did get four trout Saturday at Heritage Park. Only one went for a fishing fly; others went for an inline spinner.Post.

Also, expanded on the iFishNews post with video clips, pics, and comments...
