Yeah we have to deal with the slot. So we paper all of our fish. But then actually getting to count those slot bass gives you a real idea of what Lake Fork is holding. So yes our SAL's have fallen off. And I only know 3 people that have ever caught one in the last 10 years anyway.

For the rest of us we are just as happy with a 6 or 7 or 8 or 9. As you can see there were a bunch of 7.56's caught.
And these numbers are not exactly accurate because if you caught a 12 lb bag and your lunker was a 5.12 you could have also caught a 4 that is not recorded here. I only wrote down the lunkers that were each anglers best in each tournament.

And let me tell you that while those 7's and up fight hard. I think those darn smaller bass fight just as hard.

You may say that Fork is over run with little bass. The far majority of fish we are catching right now are little. Last year they were 10's to 12's . This year they are mainly 12's and up but yes we are still catching some 10's and a lot of 8's. Another year and those 13 will be 15's and then the fun will really begin.

And even though the big tournaments catch a lot of overs there really aren't that many over 10. In three years of this club stats there has only been one 10 caught in a tournament. I would say that that is going to change pretty soon with the good spawns we've had and the fact that we are catching so many upper slots.
