Who are the mostly highest regarded and "user-friendly" guides on Caddo Lake? And where are good places to stay on or near the lake?

Paul Keith is a really good guide.
Shady Glade is a decent place to stay, more motel style, which also has a ramp and restaurant. If you want something a little nicer, I'd recommend Hodge Podge Cottages which is 200 yards from Shady Glade.

Howard Leftwich is a great guide: http://www.caddolaketoursandguides.com/contact.htmlTell him Bryce sent you his way. We have stayed at several cottages around the area, the last one we stayed at was right on the river with great fishing in both directions and it's right down the road from Howard: http://caddolakelodging.com/bridge-house/See my last caddo post for some of the catfish I pulled out of the river on the Bridge House dock.

Paul Keith is the best guide on Caddo but probably the nicest guide you will ever meet that stays on fish also is Vince Richards.

Not even close, Paul Keith for everything Caddo. It's the only lake he guides on, and has caught more 10+ bass than all of the other Caddo Guides combined. He has caught so many, he doesn't even get the free replicas anymore. He once had a 45lb, 5 fish bag in a tournament on Caddo. But, he doesn't fish tournaments anymore, so you don't have to worry about him holding back any "secret spots", not that he would anyway. Plus, he's a super nice, informative, helpful guide.
