I got way too technical in my first reponse. The most simple rule of thumb to follow is...

Warm temps, less pitch.

Cold temps, more pitch.

I'm surprised by the number of one prop guys. Perhaps it's due to a 'keeping it simple' mentality?

I've had the impression that many of you fish tournaments. If so, why wouldn't you want your boat performing at its peak? Forget about speed for a second and consider trouble-free operation when it matters most.

I change spring and fall 23-25 tempest.
the real reason is to get any fishing line off the propshaft and to recheck/grease
hub and torque.

This all really depends on where you live (Altitude) and differences in seasonal temps. Some see no reason to change props but you have to understand everyone has their own way of doing things. Some want their boats running at top performance all the time. Some say 75 is good enough. To each his own---I personally having a Bullet of course want mine running good all the time and do the seasonal prop swap but for more reasons than just speed.

I run a smaller prop or possibly a 4blade. Unfortunately This time of year on Rayburn, I never get the chance to air the kitty out. Only question is which way the wind will be blowing from.

Yup. Four blade in the summer and a three blade in the winter.
