A couple of days ago I took my oldest son Mason on a fishing trip and we always have a fun time with laughs and jokes. Somehow each time he seems to be the one on the boat that always lands the big fish of the day (it must be in his blood) but on this moment it was a little unusual. We were anchored on a spot and the back rod took off and as he reeled down on the fish he turned back and said to me that the reel broke, I then noticed that the reel was dangling down from the rod and it had completly broke off at the reel seat from the frame. The rod was slightly bending and the line in the water was moving so I said that I would just hold the rod and he could just reel it in. We both were laughing at the situation and how goofy we must look and we had thought it was just a decent fish around 5 to 10lbs but when it came up to the boat then the fish realized it was hooked and the next few minutes was chaos and mayhem. I told mason to take the pole so I could get the net so he had the pole under his arm and the reel in both his hands he was able to get the fish to come up and get netted. I still don't know how he did it. We still did not have an idea of how big the fish was until we got it in the boat and as we gazed upon the fish we both stood there quietly for a few seconds and then both started to laugh. I loved that moment and it is a moment I will never forget. Well done Mason!

So awesome that not only did you get to share an exhilarating fishing moment with your son, but you got a photo and a trophy fish.
