BASS says 9 but doesn't say who. Looks like Jocumsen, Randy Allen, Iyobe, Tietje, J Todd Tucker, MaCaghren, Scalon, Miyazaki, Kiriyama are the 9 who are out next year.

Huh? Here are the AOY standings. Look from the bottom up. The four bottom guys dropped out, so it would be the next however many above them wouldn't it? Paul Elias and Bernie Schultz are both in there. I've only heard of one "legends" exemption for 2017 and that's David Fritts. I wonder if Elias is the other?

Gotta make room for these guys, too.

Elias got a legend exemption also, Fouz.

I've been waiting for this topic to pop up. They gave the guys who were forced out the option for priority entry into the Opens. I wonder how many of them will try to get back in. Also begs the question of whether or not more Elites should be entering the Opens for job security. It will definitely be interesting to see how this shapes the "minor leagues".

I've said for years that, with very few exceptions, the guys who fish everything they can stand a better chance of winning on the Elites. The guys who only fish the eight or nine Elite events each year are finding it harder to stay competitive.

As for established Elite guys not re-qualifying and fishing the Opens or FLW, they'll lose about $40-$50k in sponsor money right off the bat.

I love that guy and want him to do well, but man he can be a beating to listen too. Just something about the way he talks seems so forced. He needs to relax in front of the camera. But I watched every episode of the greatest fishing show ever "Circuit Breaker"

I like MDJ and hope he does well but in my gut I think he made the jump too soon and is gonna get his butt handed to him, that rookie class is stout, really every year they are now, the elites are a beast.

I wish him the best, but think it will be a struggle for him.

Bummed to see Carl Jocumsen did not make the cut. Great guy, does a lot for the sport both on and off the lake.

I liked him as well. It's tough enough to take your fishing skills from a single Region of the country to the Elites. Coming from the other side of the world is super tough. You have to give him props for even trying it. Hopefully he will fish the Opens and come back to the Elites.

Any Angler out in the Elites can have a bad couple of years. There are a number of the that stayed that had worse AOY standings the last two years than him. BASS looks at a longer time.
