sometimes figuring things out are more important than the fish you catch that day. I hadnt been on belton in 12 days and things change fast. they arent in 15 feet any more and arent relating to brush as much anymore. water changed from 72 degrees to 64-65 degrees.
This time of year, like whitey outlaw said,. you may have to sit out there from dusk till dawn to find out when they bite. the ones I caught bit pink slab bandits or minnows, but wouldnt touch a slab bandit tipped with a minnow..

COMING SOON! .. THE STICKLE HOOK " the stay level sickle hook". sits level in the water with all knots.! Provides better hook sets and more natural jigging motion. No more adjusting the knot, gluing , or tying loop knots that cause the hook point to tangle in the loop, or worse knick the line.. The jighook that will make all others obsolete !

finding them is easy, making them bite can be the challenge, as belton usually maintains a terrific population of different shad schools.
I was lucky enough to hook up with someone who really knows belton and was willing to share some of its secrets with me.,
I have found a winter type pattern, hopefully it will hold a while.
