I went fishing yesterday on Lake Waco from 11:30Am to 4:30PM. I was able to find goof gizzard shad in the creek marked in Red and then fished in the spots marked Blue. I never so much as got a bite, I had 4 poles thrown at each spot and would stay there for a little bit then move around. I fished at a depth between 4ft to 12ft. Any ideas so to what I did wrong? I trolled around alot looking for signs of big fish but the open water looked like a desert, no bait and no signs of fish on the graph so thats why I choose the shallower water.

Waco is very slow. Went there twice with Jerry(Snowyriver) and once we went with a guide. First trip skunked, second trip guided, 4-5 fish. Not great fishing right now.

Freeman, What kind of rig do you use when fishing with punch bait?

I fish the trees with a home made slip cork and a no# 6 treble hook.Use milo or wheat as chum.Always catch a few up in hog creek.I don't stay in one spot over 30 min. After chumming if the bite isn't there.
