I have only caught a few koi in my day. One on Tenkara!

I find them mostly in smaller ponds in richer neighborhoods. People will drop off their koi from their backyard ponds into local ponds that are close to the road.

Chum with bread chunks floating then a chunk of bread on size 8 hook fly lined so it floats. Basically like fly fishing. They will come to the top and gulp it in.
