Dad and I are in the market for a new boat. Will mainly be used for crappie fishing Murvaul, sandbass fishing Sabine in the Spring, and inshore Galveston Bay. We are looking at 20 ft bay or CC. Thinking Xpress, Alumnacraft, or G3.

Would certainly like some feedback from folks running any of these or something similar.

Thanks!

I have been running a XPRESS H22 Bay for the last 3 years. Bought new in 2013. It has a Yahama 150. Zero issues. I like the fact it has no carpet. Wash it out and it looks new. Only down side for me is the wind. It will blow around on you compared to a heavy fiberglass boat. I think all the boat manufactures are building good quality boats these days.

I have a Xpress 18 foot side console. Ive had it 4 years and fish a lot. Great boat in mild wind but 15 +mph wind its a rough wet ride. If i knew then what i know now I probably would have went with Lund V hull.

Alumacraft and Sea Ark would be top two pics in my opinion. Xpress better than G3 but behind first two. All will do you a good job........avoid Grizzly Trackers if you can. Good luck.

Guys, thanks for the feedback.

CamoKing, which boat model is that? Love that boat!!

From the feedback I'm getting, I'm leaning toward the H20B vs XP20CC based on the feedback of better ride in chop and handling while turning.

I searched for a new boat for years. The Xpress is a great boat but i wanted a larger deck. I called Gator Trax and let let me design the boat exactly how I wanted it. The center console is great for driving. Gator Trax builds the larger boats with 3/16" or .190 aluminum. These boats are built like tanks. You can design the entire boat the way you want it. This is a 2072 Strike series with a 225 Pro XS

I would check out Crestliner and Ranger also. Two of the absolute best hull designs out there. Tboxfish here on the forum has a Crestliner bay boat, 22' and the draft is about 6"! It is an impressive boat and handles big water with ease. 2cents

I've been running a 21' Xpress for 14 yrs. not a single boat problem! It'll do anything you want it to do!

I have a Crestliner 1750 Fishhawk. I used to have an old 17ft Alumacraft flatbottom. The Crestliner hual is so damn solid, it really helps when you have to cross the lake on those windy days. All welded no rivots, down side is my model has plywood which sucks.

I have a Ranger RP 190 and would go back to glass boats if I could. Nothing wrong with the boat at all. I just like the way glass boats handle better than Aluminum.

Nautical Mile Marine in Flint TX. has a 2016 G3 Bay 20 with the 150 SHO with less than 2 hours on it . only in the water 2 times. You can save about 10k on it . Pics on their Facebook page. I looked at it and it is like new but I went with the 2017 sportsman 17 PFC , the bay 20 was more boat than I need

whatever u do stay away from G3, I know all aluminum boats are light but that G3 wobbles at every step made on it. my bud bought one and he wants out asap! be sure to go out on it b4 u purchase to see how wide it turns, how stable it is to walk on ect, everyone's different so opinions are different so go out on it a few minutes check it out. Any boat dealer worth his salt wont mind

Yep, one of those motors cost more than my boat.

Agree on G3.
know a guy that went through 3 of them cracking welds, even on the bow. Which should be the most solid.
