This stuff is very pricey, but it casts a mile and is like silk, yet still strong. Are there any less expensive alternatives that are like it other than Gliss?

Samurai is good. But, it's not "silky". It is about the same for noise. And casts just as good.

But, to directly answer....no. Super slick is the best. And there isn't one as good. Some close.

Samaria is good. And affordable.

I haven't owed the super slick.

Frank don't be cheap, braid will last for a long time, so you do not have to replace it often...

I rationalize buying super slick by considering the following:
it's sold at wmarts with good fishing sections at a reasonable price
Lasts a long time especially using leaders
It's cheaper than power pro maxcuatro
I use regular power pro for pitching, flipping, frogs, and Crig and use the super slick for crankbaits, big topwaters and finesse

Really like this line. But last year after a full day of using the 65lb test to flip bushes it was torn up. Had lots of abrasions I used 3 or so spools until I decided it was costing me to much money. Maybe I was being paranoid but just didnt seem to be worth the risk. I use Suffix 832 now and really like it. My buddy just got some of the sunline and its pretty slick as well.

power pro max quattro is the best for evrything! super 8 is for finess applications not real abrasion resistant, and regular is all about getting in the thick stuff.... here is the best description....

Slick 8 might be the least abrasion resistant braid out there. Might be a decent braid for finesse applications but if around any kind of cover I'm sticking with suffix 832. You can pull a truck with that stuff
