Well as most of us know, the crappie are heading up the creeks (at least after the front coming in tomorrow) and it's time to break out the jig and bobber set up and get after them. With the lake levels like they are, this year should be the best creek fishing years since 2011 (pending no floods). I have some plans to announce in a couple of weeks when things come together.

I went and scouted a creek on Tuesday and quickly got on a pattern. I found the fish biting good about 1 ft under a bobber around structure on Chartruese Thump Chubbies. Here are a couple of pictures from the trip.

Here are a couple of video's of creek fishing from the past few years.

It will only get better as it gets colder.

The rig in the top video is a pegged float with a 1/16 oz jig below it. The bottom 2 videos are with a cigar slip float and a 1/8oz jig with a 1/8th split shot above that to get the float to stand up. All of the floats I use come from Walmart.

Same for me. Went to my local creek on 11/26 and caught 3 unders. But the water was pretty muddy.

I'm going to scout a creek in the Denton area tomorrow. I will post a report of what I find. The fish should be in the creek just not in the numbers they would be if the water was below 55 degrees.

Got a few nice ones Sunday night in my creek, and lost several really good ones. They are 2-3 ft down, in about 7 ft of water, hugging submerged timber with tips of limbs above surface. Day glow bobbers suspending the jig.
