Paper work has been filed and sent off. My son Layke and I went to Lake arrowhead like we always do looking for a big bite especially with the cooler weather. Well we found it. Layke fishes out the back of the boat and I fish out of the front. Well one of his rods went down and I went to grab the camera to record it like I always do and when I turned my back is heard him say "daddy I can't get it out of the holder" I knew then it was going to be a good one. Well the fight was on after that. It took him almost 10mins to get it in but when he did I about passed out lol. His personal best before this was 30lbs and I knew he had it beat. I also knew the junior lake record was in the 40s. So I called the state park at the lake and told them I had a possible record, they told me they would be waiting for us at the dock so we took off. Well when we arrived they notifed us that the lake record was 41 lbs. We carried the fish in my giant make shift livewell/cooler up the dock to the weight in station. We weighed it in at 47.55lbs!!! I'm not going to lie I got chocked up. We filled all the paperwork out. Got a 100 pis and let her swim off back into the lake full of fight. I could not be any prouder of my boy. He caught 6 before this one and one of them was 13lbs.
