During my fishing outings I am always on the hunt for a trophy bass. I have been using my humminbird elite 7 si to help graph bigger fish deeper and i feel like that is the place that numbers of big fish hang. Is there are way on the graph or something particular you look for when trying to target bigger fish?

Graph every point looking for irregular features on the sides. I like to concentrate on the 15 out to 30 foot contours. It all starts for me with the paper map to locate potential spots before I go to graph them. These may be:
- heavy crock cropping
- boulders
- a vertical ledge
- extremely heavy cover
- hump on the end of the point
- a protrusion off the side of the point
- A contour of rock on one side of the point. Which might be the old shoreline during years of low water.
- a underwater island off the end of the point
- gentle slope with an abrupt drop
- a notch in the point

donald is spot on, only thing I will add is I look for something more like a foundation on a hump or a rd bed interesting a point something more than just the bottom contour change. This time of year I like secondary point next to a creek bend personally but depending on the lake they may be further in the creeks or still main lake.

The more cover and structure the better. If the location is difficult to access, that's a big bonus (example: creek channel bends and humps in the middle of a huge stump field).

An example of a really good theoretical location

Multidirectional drop off (+1) at the end of a point (+1) into a creek channel (+1) bend (+1)with a hump (+1) and isolated timber (+1) that intersects with a road bed (+1) under a bridge(+1) funnel point(+1).

This theoretical location has nine +1s.

When targeting big bass, find and fish locations with the most +1s.
