I'm about to install a recessed trolling motor pedal tray in my 1997 Ranger 488. I wanted to ask anyone with a similar boat if there are any hidden surprises to beware of before cutting a huge hole in my deck? I found two nice surprises when installing my retractable rod buckles in the gunwale and luckily didn't hit any wires with the rotozip...

Thanks!!

I installed one on my 97 461VS Ranger - there was nothing underneath to worry about on mine.

I have the same question about my 2001 Skeeter ZX190. Any help appreciated.

I am a Senager. (Senior teenager) I have everything that I wanted as a teenager, only 50 years later. I get an allowance every month. I have PU truck and a bass boat, I am blessed.

Just plan on running drain tubing all the way back to the bilge.

Mine came with a drain tube so I'm good there. Just don't know what to expect when cutting the hole. Hate to cut some wires or even worse a hole in the hull.

On a ZX202, it was no big deal and nothing in the way. If you have a tub in your gear box, pull it out. You should be able to get a visual verification you are all clear.

Nothing but foam under my '95 461vs. You should be good, I would suggest wearing gloves and long sleeves. The "dust" from the foam will irritate you like insillation

Thanks guys!! I really appreciate it, after the run in with the gunwale electrical tubes all of your input makes me feel a lot better about the project.

Have a great night!

Good idea, ask a question on here and get an answer.

Thanks Joe, I did as you said and got the thing installed today with no problem except I pulled all 6 groin muscles getting in and out of the boat.
