I'm gonna goto Brownsville to hang out with aunt and uncle at Xmas time. I of course am gonna try to fish falcon. But it's 2 hours away. Is there any good lakes closer?

I can't think of any except bay fishing, or off the jetties at South Padre Island. Plenty of places to eat, drink, or hang out on the beach.
