Slabbing for Stripers this morning, I was sure I had a sure enough good one on. After boating the fish, it was this little jewel below. Those things can flat out peel drag and fight. 18.27 lbs of fun!

Reel nice one!

If the fish don't bite your not baiting right...

Just a silver Cordell Slab. I missed it once, very light bite, the second time, I set the hook and it felt like I was hung up. Then the fight began. It wasn't like catching a striper where they hit and run, this fish just sat there until I pulled real hard on it.

nice fish but you gripping the lip like that will just rip its mouth apart. please be more careful next time the way these fish feed could you can end up causing damage for it just to die off. it could be the same as gut hooking and pulling out the hook

Based on my own experience, as well as reading others, I believe shad are a good bait for buffalo. Hardest part is that everything else loves shad too. Lol.

I caught a 20+ lbr 5-6 years ago, while crappie fishing a brushpile. Figured it was a big flathead catfish & played it for 20-30 min. Fun fight but was rather disappointed when it finally surfaced. mad
