No tickets needed, rooms are going fast. If your looking for a package deal try groupons or cheap tickets.

I doubt you will see any packages including airfare.

Houston is a big city. The Classic shouldn't effect airfare one way or the other. Usually you can get some good deals coming here. You could fly into either Bush or Hobby, they are bout equal distance from the weigh in at Minute Maid. The only hotels close are those downtown. They typically are fairly pricey when any event is in town. Anything that isn't downtown but close isn't going to be where you want to stay.

You could stay in The Woodlands. Plenty of good hotels there. It's about 25 minutes to the lake and 40 minutes to the weighin. If you stay in that area you want to fly into Bush. It's about 25 minutes to The Woodlands.

You could also stay in the Humble area. Just minutes from Bush and about 20 minutes from Minute Maid. 50 minutes to the Lake.

Lots of good places to eat while your here.

Just checked some downtown hotels. Not too bad. You can book the Hyatt Regency which is walking distance to the George R Brown where the Expo is going to be held for $159 a night. It's a far walk to Minute Maid.

Others are in the $160 range.

Closer is more expensive. More in the $230 range. You can use google maps to see where they are at in relation to both Minute Maid and the GRB.

Ultimate locations in terms of location would be the Westin, Marriott Marquis or Hilton.

I would also check Hotwire.com, I travel to Houston a lot and find the best deals are under the star rating and the location you want to be. You don't know the name of the hotel til after you pay but as long as you stay at a 3.5 or better star rating you should be ok.
