This has never happened to me before, but it did on a ramp that wasn't very steep that I've never put in/loaded up at. Lesson of the day- Make sure your motor is trimmed up when driving up on the trailer. I knew something wasn't right when the boat wouldn't go on the trailer all the way even with all 225 horses pushing

Ouch! I made a pretty bad scrape on the bottom of the lower unit once but I didn't hit the prop. I always trim up all the way when loading now. Some lessons are learned the hard way.

I've been running this boat for a year now and have loaded it the same way with no issues. I just keep trim down all the way and jack plate up on 5. But this ramp I was at wasn't steep at all, almost flat. So with that trim all the way down, the concrete left a little surprise for my prop.. On my previous boat (Stratos 201) I always stayed trimmed up like you said. But since this boat has the lack plate, I just leave the trim down.

I KNOW WHAT SANTA WILL BE LEAVING UNDAR YOUR TREE! Nah I'll ask Santa to bring something else. I'm just going to take the prop to Mike Hood on Monday and have him fix it and put a sharper cup in the blades while I'm at it. I think Santa should bring me better luck. On the SAME DAY this happened, somehow my pair of Costa's broke, my power pole randomly stopped working, and I broke a tip on a rod.. You think I could ask Santa for better luck??

Better make sure you didn't bend the prop shaft.

Better make sure you didn't bend the prop shaft. Last post that I saw like this, it was an expensive fix

Power loaded a brand new Ranger at Oak Ridge with low water... similar prop but got a bent shaft to boot.

That probably was not the ramp but an object down on the bottom that got your prop. Your skeg would bottom out before the prop got dinged.
I usually trailer with the motor full trim, just before tilt. On a Mercury when you give it full throttle in the tilt position it goes down to the top of the trim anyway, at least thats the case for my motor.

been there done that on the Ohio River once, it is a gut wrenching feeling... the back end of the boat starts bouncing to the rhythm of the blades spinning and grinding on the concrete...LOL when I got mine back from repair they had welded new stainless on, ground it to factory dimensions, re-cupped it and polished it all up and you could't tell it had been spinning on the ramp...

My Gambler is real particular about how it's sitting as to whether is goes easy or just sit there. Many factors, none of which are worth taking the chance on tearing up $$ props.
