I knocked a crack/hole in a side louver on the top cowling assembly. That whole assembly comes apart and is replaceable but more than likely have to be painted if bought new and replaced, also may be difficult to get put back together. My question is has anyone ran into cowling damage and used a fiberglass repair shop to repair rather than replace? This on a 2012 Yamaha 250 SHO 4 stroke. Let me know and will appreciate some advice on a place to take it in the north Texas area, around lake Texoma

For what it's worth, I recently cracked the cowling on an SHO as well (2016 model that I've had for 8 weeks!). Haven't fixed it yet but a local dealer said to find a shop that works on Corvettes since they're fiberglass to get a good repair done.
