Lady bird is trolling motor only, you can use your bassboat but TM only while moving around the lake. Has quality fish but can get crowded with all the recreational kayakers, etc. Lake Austin is a shell of what it once was. No grass anymore, target docks and bluffs to get bit.

I'll trade ya a hunt for a fishing trip! haha
As for Lady Bird, as mentioned you can take a bass boat on it, but no main engine... the lake has some good structure in the middle of the lake right around the South Congress bridge and near the big concrete water treatment plant. Shakey heads, waky rigged senkos, and swimbaits are my go to baits. In the evening or early morning a whopper popper or similar prop bait will get bit.
As for Lake Austin, I haven't fished it in a while, it's nothing special anymore... save your gas and go to Lake Travis. I fished Travis last Friday and today and the bite has been pretty good. Lots of small fish in the backs of coves and creeks, with some bigger fish in deeper water off rocky points.

Honey Hole All Outdoors did a show on Lady Bird with a guide. Might be informative for you to watch if you can find it.

Thanks. The research I've really done is on tpwd. I've talked to some other guys elsewhere and say ladybird gers pounded by the young swimbait crowd. Kind do of reluctant to go now might as well go home and fish Monti. It's about to go bananas anyway

Have you thought about fishing Walter E Long lake (aka Decker Lake) ? It's in far South East Austin (Manor) and has great bass fishing. It's a pretty small lake and doesn't get that much pressure. Lots of nice bass coming out of it.
