Hit Canyon yesterday from 8:30 til 2:00. Launched at Jacobs creek ramp, and headed for the marina in the same area. Fished empty boat slips for about 10 minutes until a guy came out and said I was not allowed to fish within 100 ft. of the marina due to it belonging to the military. So, headed around to Canyon lake marina, but noticed all the "no trespassing" signs, so headed up into Jacobs creek...no luck. Headed across to some old ramps with rocks going out in the water on the sides, and had non-stop action. Ended up with 6 bass (one smallmouth 1.5 lbs , one 4 lb largemouth) and 30-40 bluegill of various types. 6 or 7 of the bluegill would have been nice keepers, but still have a freezer full, so it was their lucky day. Water temp was 69-71 degrees, and it was pretty breezy. Fished with night crawlers on the bottom Carolina rig style, ultra light tackle, 6 lb test. Fish were in 4 - 12 feet of water, and there were quite a few under water tree annoyances to deal with, but overall, a fun day...at least I didn't fall in this time... Awesome report Vogey. I fished Dunlap yesterday and did well. Caught some nice Bluegill and one Rio 10 plus inches. The lake is back up to normal level with slower current.

Nice report Vogey. I used to fish Canyon a lot over the years. Hopefully I can get up the Guadalupe when the Crappie move in!
