Misty, cool, 10 maybe 15 mph max wind, cloudy all day except for a few minutes of sun.
Not sure what to expect until the birds showed up and showed us the way for quite a while. Not sure how long the weather would hold but it was fine all day. Since we still had a South wind decided to try South West side of the island. Not long after we got there the birds showed up and it was on. Almost all sandies with an occasional striper. They weren't moving very fast and there was some top water action. After that played out started our search for more and found pockets of sb as we moved Eastward on South side of island following the birds. Caught fish every stop. As we got to the East edge of the island, birds started working again. It was on again but this time it was a big school of stripers with some sb mixed in and we were able to find them 3 different times thanks to the birds. Very chaotic with both of us hooked up and I had two poles with fish on at the same time. Tried to take a graph pic but was in a hurry so it is blurry. Stripers followed the East side of the island about 30 yds from the bank around the corner then back.
Ended the afternoon with many more sb with 150 total fish on the clicker. All fish released. Only saw 2 boats all day. We were lucky today and happened to be in the right place at the right time for the stripers.

Rob looks cold but he wasn't.

Blurry graph

Nice job you guys. Dave and I hit it yesterday afternoon. Rained some but not too bad. The other day I found them on the point as you come out of the launch by the dam. They were between the first point on the right and the other Loafers boat ramp. They were still there yesterday. Ended up with 15-20 stripers I guess. Biggest was 29 inches. We looked around the island a little and the birds were still there. Saw the schools of sandies but really didnt fish em. Wind wasnt as bad as I thought it would be. Caught a 25 and 23 at the same time, that was fun. Good luck. Have you guys fished Richland lately?

Thanks for the info. We always launch at lofers and drive right by those stripers. We will look there next time for sure. No we have not fished Richland since early spring. Whitney has been so good we just go there.
Forgot to mention that on 4 occasions when we got into the stripers they preferred the fly and when they did the slab below was gone. Assume line cut with gill plate or we had two on and snapped the line.

Yea, I kinda stumbled on them the other day with that big North wind. Going really slow with the high waves and had my side imaging on an there they were off to the right. Sitting in about 15 fow on the break of the point. Im gonna try and upload a few pics from the recent trips. Hope it works. The pic with the 3 hybrids and the sandie are from Tawakoni.
