"Northern" as in how northern? Red river? Or beyond into yankee land? Lol Where is Splendora? I have never fished LL so you probably won't see me there unless I get an invite. I don't like the traffic over there. It sucks!

you found the correct and best channel on your dial I see you are near LLiv. FYI, many of us also fish lakes just a couple hours north of ya for whites, hybrids, and striper. LLew=Lake Lewisville, LLav=Lake Lavon. This is a great place to share, learn, or even brag your catches lol.

I finally mapped splendora. I see it is north of Houston. I thought you meant Lewisville or Lavon. Must be Livingston. If I make it down that way I'll try to look you up.

Yeah he talking LLiv. Splendora is just north of Houston on 59 I recall. LLiv might have caught a few stripers with all the recent flooding but don't count on catching them. That lake is tough fishing.
Cast I have a short attention spa

Welcome to the forum and congratulations on living near the best white bass lake in the great state of Texas! Striper fishing in the lake took a hit from the last couple years of flooding but we had a big influx of hybrid from lakes further up the trinity river.

Sometimes my handle can be misleading northern comes from the fact I grew up in "yankee" land and mostly fished a large lake in northwestern Wisconsin called the Chippewa flowage primarily famous for the world record musky that was caught there in 1949. After some adventures in the Marine Corps I settled down here in southeast TX. Didn't think there'd be much of a fishery here less the salt water until I stumbled onto Lake Livingston where I've since grown a passion for whites, stripes, and hybrids which as Chris said earlier are prevalent here now thanks to the trinity river and Richland chambers resivour. Thanks to all for welcoming me to the forum.

Striper fishing in the lake took a hit from the last couple years of flooding but we had a big influx of hybrid from lakes further up the trinity river. Very true Chris. Ray Hubbard, IMO, lost a huge amount of premium quality stocked hybrids, stocked by RHSA and by TPWD, during the great flood of 2015. Lavon had all her gates opened and same as hubbard, for about three months. Hubbard was a "river" for three months. Was very disappointed by that. RHSA raised good amount of money and we stocked almost 100k large hybrid fingerlings in two stockings. But glad folks down stream get to enjoy catching them. So I guess it's good to be downstream sometimes? There are still some good fish left on hubbard. But not like years before the flood. IMO.
